It was great to reconnect with Joe and meet his bride-to-be, Brittanie. Their engagement session in downtown Los Angeles was full of energy and contrast. I loved the mix of gritty city streets and elegant skyline views—it gave the shoot a unique feel.
We started at the tunnel under 4th and Grand. Its dramatic light and clean lines made for a cinematic backdrop. Joe and Brittanie were relaxed and playful, which made capturing genuine moments easy.
Next, we headed to the Walt Disney Concert Hall. The building’s sweeping curves and reflective surfaces created dynamic shapes and textures. The modern architecture paired beautifully with their natural connection.
Broadway Street offered a completely different energy. The historic buildings and bustling streets added a sense of timelessness. I liked how the city’s grit contrasted with the couple’s elegance, making the images feel lively and real.
As the sun began to set, we wrapped up at The Row. The skyline views and soft golden light created a romantic, dreamy finish. It was a perfect way to highlight the contrast between the urban environment and intimate moments between Joe and Brittanie.
This session captured their personalities and the balance of the city around them. The juxtaposition of downtown’s raw energy with elegant skyline views gave the photos a distinctive style. I can’t wait to photograph their wedding day and see their love story continue.
